As a part of this year's Woolmark Prize, Ahluwalia and other finalists were briefed to work on a collection utilising the access and network the prestigious prize has at their hands.
With a focus on innovative design and experimenting with textiles and fabrics, Ahluwalia produced a concise collection featuring "tailoring, naturally dyed yarns, upcycled and vintage Merino wool knits".
It was the perfect opportunity for Ahluwalia's team to flaunt their skillset in progressive and passionate design, especially where the award celebrates the modernity of merino wool. The offering breathed an air of tradition all whilst remaining chic and elegant.
It's amazing that an award can support and empower a sea of varying designers from all walks of life, having an alumni boasting game changing talent such as the late Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld and Ralph Lauren. The process includes working with the Innovation Academy - a group of like-minded brands who work together to support the world’s leading emerging designers as they launch on a global scale. Designers go through mood boards and look books to sharpen and refine their collections, to finally, be seen by and judged by a panel of industry experts.
To celebrate the launch of Ahluwalia’s AW22 Collection 'From Nollywood To Bollywood' and commemorate the massive inclusion of the Woolmark Prize, we used graphics from the collection for our storefront, taking the style of old film posters inspired by Bollywood & Nollywood films.
Ahluwalia’s AW22 collection is available in store alongside select pieces from her Woolmark collection.
